RUTH MULLAN STAINED GLASS ARTIST

I am a stained glass artist working in my garden studio in Sussex. I graduated from Eastbourne College of Art and Design as an elected diploma member of the Chartered Society of Designers in graphic design.

I furthered my carer in tradional stained glass and lead design under the professional guidance of master craftsman Keith Nickels.

I enjoy the challenge of designing and being able to visually interpret a client's brief; by concentrating on the use of colour, light and texture of the glass to enhance the design.

I work with lead and glass and commission based installations for windows and doors and hanging pieces. I also work with copper foil usually on smaller projects. Thought the year I hold workshops at my studio.

Stained Glass Commissions

I'm happy to take on commissions for stained glass windows, doors and hanging pieces. Commissioning a stained glass panel allows you to acquire a unique piece of art which is an expression of your ideas, and which is designed to suit the location you choose.

The commissioning process begins with a site visit as it gives me a sense of the ambient light, and helps in choosing glass which would be suitable for the location. It is an opportunity for you to look at my portfolio in more detail and to discuss your ideas and expectations.

Once we have exchanged ideas about design style, colours and themes, I would be able to provide you with an accurate estimate of timescale and how much the panel will cost.

Different styles have different levels of complexity, which in turn affects the price. The site visit also allows us to agree on delivery and installation options.
